At AstroCamp, we’re proud to offer one-of-a-kind STEM summer camps and school field trips, welcoming students from all walks of life to make memories with us. By focusing on immersive STEM education and adventure programs, our campers are able to enjoy a blend of hands-on learning, personal growth, and fun they can’t find anywhere else.
Our Mission & Philosophy
We’ve been welcoming students to learn and explore with us for over 30 years. We’re committed to fostering self-confidence, teamwork, and so much more. We truly believe in the impact that camp can have in a child’s life and are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for our campers.

Unique Value Proposition
We firmly believe in teaching the students who visit us on school trips about science in ways that work best for them, taking them beyond the classroom to truly absorb these concepts. Our STEM programs are aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), which means that we teach science as a set of skills through practice and demonstration. We encourage students to ask questions and perform experiments, allowing them to form deeper connections to these concepts for a lasting impact.
For our summer campers, friendship-building and fun are at the forefront of everything we do. By centering our curriculum around adventure activities in the amazing location of the San Jacinto Mountains, students are able to try new experiences in an encouraging and supportive environment.
Program Offerings Overview
School Programs :
Our outdoor science school field trips are designed to give students an experience that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
Schools attend our programs for either a 3-day or 5-day overnight fun field trip, which is a special part of our offering. By staying overnight, students get the chance to enjoy a new environment and truly bond with others in the program. Schools can customize trips to meet their students’ needs and we offer STEM field trips with special STEM night activities, adventure activities, and much more to choose from.
On our school field trips, students will explore the sciences of physics and astronomy, develop as individuals, and foster their sense of wonder, all while making memories they’ll never forget. These overnight field trips and educational field trips are a hit with students and schools alike.
Summer Camps:
At our sleepaway camp, campers will learn all about becoming independent, having fun, and forming lifelong friendships. With amazing mountain activities taking place in Southern California, students can broaden their horizons and learn how to problem-solve, making this one of the most well-rounded summer programs for kids. As one of our week-long STEM summer camps designed for campers aged 10-17, our Geek Week program is perfect for those looking to dive deeper into some of our most popular creative-based and STEM activities.
Our one-week summer camps are designed for ages 8-13 and are filled with our favorite summer STEM activities. Campers love these sessions, dedicated to learning, growth, and fun.
Designed for those ages 12-17, our 2-week summer camp can be catered to each camper’s unique interests. During our 2-week sleepaway camps, they’ll choose from a variety of our most fun and immersive activities, learning new skills and gaining leadership experience.
Campers aged 8-17 can get the chance to explore their culinary passions at this children’s cooking camp. One of the best cooking camps for kids, Camp CHOP lets students hit the food lab and learn the basics they can continue to build on in everyday life.
Idyllwild, California: A Unique Setting
We’re based in the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains of California near Idyllwild. This unique and scenic setting is perfect for enhancing both learning and recreation, as our 80-acre campus is surrounded by amazing nature just waiting to be explored. With clear skies perfect for stargazing and a landscape built for outdoor adventures, our location is a big part of what makes AstroCamp so special.

Staff & Safety
Our team is made of passionate and experienced experts dedicated to creating an enriching and fulfilling experience for all our students, on both our educational field trips and our overnight summer camps. We follow strict safety guidelines and all of our instructors are trained in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration. Learn more about our team.
