AstroCamp seeks to hire enthusiastic individuals in our school year and summer programs that are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children through unique opportunities of discovery.

SCHOOL YEAR POSITIONS

Program Instructor

Instructors are responsible for bringing physical sciences and astronomy concepts to life through hands-on, experiential education classes and activities as well as lead outdoor activities and team building initiatives. Children (4-12th Grade) come with their school grade level for a 3-5 day outdoor education program.

Assistant Program Director

The Assistant Program Directors are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations designated to their particular role. An APD may be responsible for scheduling and communication with schools, while another may be responsible for logistics and equipment, ensuring that the program is able to proceed as usual. SUMMER CAMP POSITIONS

Cabin Counselor

Cabin counselors are responsible for the social and emotional experience of their group of campers. Cabin counselors will live and sleep in the dorms, spend cabin time with the campers, supervise camper living habits, and guide the campers in their selection of activities. At mealtimes, counselors will sit at each table with 5-10 children. Counselors are involved in those activities where their teaching skills can be best utilized. On occasion, though, counselors may be asked to “assist” in activities in which they are not particularly experienced. However, they are not expected to be the Lead, but they assist and help with supervision. Cabin counselors are not required to have any background or education in physical science and astronomy; however, an interest is encouraged.

Summer Instructor

Instructors are responsible for instructing specific activities.  Summer instructors will teach assigned classes to campers ages 8-17. These classes include hands-on science courses, ropes courses, mountain biking, archery, blacksmithing, dungeons and dragons, and many more.

Photographer

Our camp photographers have one of the most important jobs at camp.  They are responsible for capturing high quality pictures of all special memories and moments of camp from class activities to evening events.  Our photographers will be responsible to filter, organize, edit, and upload all pictures to the our Campanion App for parents to view.  The photo position will also be a part of the counseling team however they will not have a group of campers each week but may be called upon to cover groups as needed.

Audio Visual

Our Audio Visual position is responsible for all of the tech for evening events and special classes.  They will set up and tear down all AV equipment in camp. The AV position will also be a part of the counseling team however they will not have a group of campers each week but may be called upon to cover groups as needed.

Social Media

The Social Media position is responsible for overseeing the camp’s social media accounts during the summer.  They will create fun videos and photo content that will be posted throughout the week and extra content for during the year. The social media position will also be a part of the counseling team however they will not have a group of campers each week but may be called upon to cover groups as needed.

Leadership Team

Our leadership team consists of 5-8 staff that schedule, develop and coordinate program activities and hire, supervise, and support our staff.  These roles are usually filled by returning staff members.  To learn more, please contact us at 909-625-6194.
