From ages 8 to 17, campers discover new adventures, new confidence, and new ways to connect.
Ages 8–10: Discovery and First Adventures
For younger campers, everything feels new—and that’s the magic. At this age, camp is about building confidence through curiosity.
They might try archery for the first time, explore the night sky, or complete a ropes course with new friends cheering them on. Counselors offer steady support, helping kids feel safe, capable, and proud of every accomplishment.
Focus: Building independence, forming friendships, and learning through play.
Ages 11–13: Confidence and Connection
Middle-grade campers crave challenge and community. They’re ready for bigger adventures, more choices, and deeper friendships.
At this stage, AstroCamp introduces more advanced STEM projects and outdoor activities, giving kids a sense of ownership over their experience. They learn teamwork, resilience, and how to balance leadership with fun.
Focus: Exploring identity, leadership, and teamwork through hands-on adventure.
Ages 14–17: Leadership and Growth
Older campers step into roles that challenge and inspire them. They take on advanced science labs, outdoor expeditions, and leadership opportunities that help them discover their strengths.
For many, this is the summer they find their voice—mentoring younger campers, leading cabin groups, and realizing how much they’ve grown since their first year.
Focus: Leadership, mentorship, and preparing for life beyond camp.
