Explore Our Housing

Our dormitory-style housing features rooms with 2-3 bunk beds, private bathrooms, and shower stalls. Campers are placed into cabin groups of 8-10 campers per counselor. Cabin group placement is a meticulous and well-thought-out process to ensure that we take every camper's needs and interests into account.

My son and daughter both had a great time in week one and came back energized. But the real noticeable change was in my son after Geek Week. He has honestly been a different person. Happy, confident, mature. After the year + of isolation, we had gotten used to him moping and growling around the house. We haven’t seen that person since Geek Week.

Geek Week FAQs

View All FAQs

How is Geek Week different from the one-week sessions?

Geek Week is a specialty session that focuses more on the popular creative-based activities rather than the science activities that the one-week summer camps have. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy activities with a STEM camp experience, but STEM is not the primary focus of the program.

However, there will still be some science-based exposure, like our Super Science Night and Space Night opportunities.

Geek Week also allows for more camper-directed activities as they will give their preferences for the four core activities prior to camp.

Can I call my child at camp? Can my child call home?

We request that you call your child only in the case of an emergency at 951.659.6062. We strongly believe in the benefits of campers and parents disconnecting from each other, other than letters. Incoming parent phone calls can be a challenge because campers are busy in the program from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Campers are only allowed to call home with the knowledge and consent of the Summer Camp Director.

Do you have many menu options for picky eaters?

At every meal, in addition to the main entrée served, campers have the following “other options”:

Breakfast: cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast, and bagels.
Lunch: peanut butter & jelly, deli meat, soup selection, and salad bar.
Dinner: salad bar

For more detailed information, please visit the “Dining” section of our website.

How should a camper pack for Geek Week?

AstroCamp is located within the mountains of Southern California on an expansive 100-acre state-of-the-art facility. Therefore, the weather is subject to change quickly due to the elevation.

The temperature can reach the upper 70s during the day while dropping to cooler temperatures in the evening, so please ensure that your camper packs appropriately.

Follow our One Week Camper Packing List to make sure your camper is prepared for a one-week stay at AstroCamp!

Are there on-site nurses and doctors?

We have a medical professional on-site for summer programs, and all medications are stored and administered at the Health Center by our camp nurse. Our staff is certified in first aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Lifeguarding.

In case of serious issues, we can contact local paramedics, who typically arrive within 6-10 minutes, to arrange transport to a nearby clinic or hospital.

Is there financial assistance for Geek Week?

AstroCamp does offer financial assistance opportunities for the overnight summer camp programs.

All applications must be received by AstroCamp prior to April 1st for the year of the camp you’re interested in enrolling for.

Please contact the AstroCamp Registrar for an application and more information.
